Sasha Sicurella, Director for Camp Art Omi, is also an artist and teacher at Berkshire Country Day. Sasha and her incredible assistants led two consecutive and successful years for Camp Art Omi. We had an average of 10 campers per week, and we hope to expand that for 2007 and into the future. Campers are encouraged to attend all three weeks, but can attend on a week by week basis.

This unique art camp will explore contemporary art and ideas through a variety of media and experiences. Given the unprecedented opportunity to inhabit the grounds of Art Omi, young artists will draw inspiration from the people, places and things in this dynamic environment.

Children will learn how today's artists interpret their ideas using materials from the natural and fabricated world. Instruction in concept building, technique and criticism happen as guided discovery, which focuses on experiential learning in a child-centered environment.
