Art Omi: Writers Virtual Reading with Nuyorican Poets Cafe
In partnership with the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Art Omi: Writers presents a virtual reading from current writers-in-residence. These distinguished writers and translators will share new and in-progress writing produced during their time at Art Omi. The Art Omi: Writers readings are always an opportunity to experience an uncommon variety of writing—provocative, funny, innovative, and surprising literary voices from a range of traditions, all in one place.
Participating writers are: Katie Moulton (USA, Alum-in-Residence), Loubna Mrie (Syria), Kia Corthron (USA), Phoebe McIlwain Bright (USA), Theresa Hottel (USA), Richard Benjamin (USA), and Justin Go (USA).
Art Omi: Writers hosts authors and translators from around the world for residencies throughout the spring and fall. The program’s strong international emphasis provides exposure for global literary voices and reflects the spirit of cultural exchange that is essential to Art Omi’s mission.
