David Schulman Violin Performance in Response to Thomas Nozkowski Paintings
Jazz violinist David Schulman will perform improvised music amid paintings by Thomas Nozkowski, currently on view in the Benenson Center gallery. Schulman frequently presents improvisational performances interpreting artworks in gallery and museum settings, and has performed in the galleries of The Phillips Collection, at the Walters Museum and Baltimore, and elsewhere. He is a 2018 fellow of Art Omi: Music.
NO CLASS AUGUST 22 OR SEPTEMBER 12.
Gather in the Newmark Gallery on Thursday evenings to sketch, draw, and render from a live male or female nude model. Open to artists of all skill levels ages 16+, each two-hour sessions is self-guided and intended to provide time and space for members of our local community to share in the exploration of this traditional art practice.
Join us on Saturday mornings for this popular workshop for young artists ages 5 - 12! Based on a weekly theme and inspired by artworks in the Sculpture & Architecture Park and Newmark Gallery, each workshop includes an outdoor adventure and a hands-on artmaking activity. Led by teaching artists, children are divided into two groups by age and participate in developmentally appropriate projects that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative thinking through a variety of materials and experiences.
FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH
Playgroup meets on October 2, November 6, December 4, January 8, February 5, March 4, April 1, and May 6.
